Before and After:  Sewing room                                                              page 1 2 3 4   next -->

These are pictures of our client's sewing room.  This room is used for sewing, ironing, embroidery, and business (the office area is located in a corner of the room - not shown)

Together with our client, we designed separate areas for each activity and planned storage areas for each of these stations.  Our client had used peg boards in her previous sewing room and  had found that they had worked well for her; therefore, we planned a layout that would enable her to have an easily accessible peg board at each location.

Additionally, we planned to have shelves installed over the peg boards which would hold clear plastic bins with additional accessories.

Thread racks would be mounted on the wall; the embroidery and sewing threads would be on separate racks.

Another simple solution to keeping clutter at a minimum was to have a wastebasket at each station instead of one for the whole room!

(Note: peg boards and shelves were not installed at the time these pictures were taken).
