Before and After:  Cutting room                                                           <-- previous   page 1 2 3 4      next -->

This is the cutting room of a client's home-based sewing business.  This client, although very organized in many ways struggled with finding time to effectively deal with the storage and maintenance of her sewing materials.

The solution was to work with our client to go through all the fabric and materials and decide what needed to be easily accessible and what could be stored away.  We utilized a lot of the empty space under the cutting table by storing sorted material in large, clear plastic bins.

Seasonal or rarely used materials were stored in the attic.  Often-used items were sorted, labeled, and stored neatly on the room' s open shelving.   We also established a dedicated area to use as a "staging area" for all new incoming work projects.
